The Strand is one of New York City’s most recognizable bookstores. In order to show the public how important The Strand’s events are, I decided to design an event for a new controversial book happening this year.

After perusing the banned books of 2022, I stumbled upon the novel, Detransition Baby by Torrey Peters which is a book that explores parenthood, transitioning, sexuality, and love. I designed all of the branding for this fictional event, which includes signage pasted onto walls in New York City, mugs for the guests to take home with them, and a separate advertisement that is pasted onto The Strand’s outdoor window.

I designed this entire project using the Adobe platform, specifically Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator. I was both the Lead Designer and Lead Researcher.
